High Leverage Forex Brokers (2026): What 24 Brokers Record

नव 02, 2026 ⏱ 12 मिनट पढ़ें 16 दृश्य

Leverage is the most heavily advertised number in retail forex — and the most misunderstood. Screenshots built around ratios like 1:1000 and 1:2000 fill trading sites and social feeds, and one broker in our database even records 1:3000. A leverage ratio tells you how much market exposure your broker will let you control with a given amount of margin. It says nothing about how much exposure you should take, how your strategy behaves at that size, or what happens when a trade moves against you.

This article takes a deliberately narrow slice of the subject: the maximum-leverage field of the 24 broker records we maintain on mqlicense.com. Every one of the 24 records states a maximum leverage value, which makes the topic easy to compare factually. Wherever we cite a specific broker, we quote the recorded field verbatim, in quotation marks, and we do not add conditions, account-type exceptions, or promotional context that the record does not contain.

The approach is data-first. The table below lists all 24 brokers with the maximum leverage recorded for each, the regulation noted in the same record, and the minimum deposit where one is stated. Around it we explain what the numbers mean in plain arithmetic, group the brokers into tiers, and show how to verify the leverage that actually applies to your account — the number on a marketing page and the number attached to your live account are not always the same.

What Leverage Really Does to Your Money

Leverage is a multiplier on exposure. At 1:500, $100 of margin lets you open a position worth $50,000 — 100 multiplied by 500. The broker does not hand you $49,900 in the everyday sense; it holds your $100 as collateral and lets the position's profit and loss swing far beyond it.

Worked example: open the full $50,000 position that $100 of margin supports at 1:500. If the market moves 0.2% against you, the loss is 0.2% of $50,000 — exactly $100, your entire margin, wiped out by one moderate move. The same $100 at 1:30 would control $3,000, and that identical move would cost $6. Nothing about the market changed between the two scenarios; only the position size your leverage permitted. High leverage amplifies losses as efficiently as gains, and for most traders the loss side of that symmetry arrives first.

Two mechanics matter here. Margin is the portion of your equity the broker locks up to keep a position open; as a losing trade eats into your equity, free margin shrinks. When equity can no longer support the open positions, the platform issues a margin call — a warning that you are near the limit — and if losses continue past the stop-out threshold, it closes positions automatically, usually starting with the largest losing one. At very high leverage this sequence is compressed: "comfortable" and "closed by the platform" can sit a few points apart.

One more piece of general context: in several jurisdictions, regulators cap retail leverage precisely because the arithmetic above drains small accounts quickly. Brokers registered in those markets therefore advertise lower maximum ratios than brokers registered elsewhere. That is an industry-wide observation, not a statement about any individual broker in our table.

What Our 24 Broker Reviews Record

All 24 broker records on our broker hub state a maximum leverage value; none is missing. The table below is sorted from the highest recorded ratio to the lowest. The leverage column quotes each record verbatim; the other two columns are short summaries of the recorded regulation and minimum deposit. Where a record's field is empty, we write "not stated" rather than guessing.

WM Markets"Maximum leverage of 1:500"No regulation stated in record$100
AvaTrade"Maximum leverage of up to 1:400."ASIC, CBI, FSCA$100

Read as tiers, the distribution looks like this: one broker at 1:3000 (FBS); three at 1:2000 (Exness, HFM, RoboForex); seven at 1:1000 (Alpari, AMarkets, InstaForex, LiteFinance, Moneta Markets, XChief, XM); twelve at 1:500; and one at 1:400 (AvaTrade). In other words, 11 of the 24 records — nearly half — state a maximum leverage of 1:1000 or higher.

A note on the minimum-deposit column: it is unrelated to leverage in our records. Brokers recording a $1 entry (Exness and InstaForex) sit at very different tiers, and the highest-leverage broker, FBS, records a $5 minimum. If entry cost rather than leverage is your deciding factor, see Forex Brokers With the Lowest Minimum Deposit (2026 Data).

Reading the Leverage Tiers

The 1:1000+ group (11 brokers)

Eleven records state a maximum leverage of 1:1000 or more: FBS, Exness, HFM, RoboForex, Alpari, AMarkets, InstaForex, LiteFinance, Moneta Markets, XChief and XM. At the top, the FBS record reads "Maximum leverage up to 1:3000" — the highest figure in our dataset. Exness records "Maximum leverage of 1:2000", HFM records "Maximum leverage up to 1:2000", and the RoboForex record reads "Max leverage up to 1:2000".

Registration deserves attention when ratios climb this high. Several brokers in this group are headquartered outside the major regulatory centers: the Alpari record states "Founded in 1998, headquartered in Mauritius", the XM record states "Founded in 2009, headquartered in Belize", and the FBS record likewise lists Belize as its headquarters. These are recorded as facts but do not say which legal entity serves which country, so confirm entity-level details with the broker before funding.

The 1:500 group (12 brokers)

The largest tier — twelve brokers — records a maximum leverage of 1:500: CFI Financial, ePlanet, FiboGroup, FP Markets, FxPro, HYCM, IC Markets, OctaFX, OpoFinance, Pepperstone, Vantage and WM Markets. What stands out here is less the ratio than the regulation attached to many records: the Pepperstone record states "Regulated by ASIC, FCA, CySEC, BaFin, DFSA", the IC Markets record states "Regulated by ASIC, CySEC, FCA", and FxPro's record lists "Regulated by FCA, CySEC, FSCA".

The tier is not uniform, though. For OpoFinance and WM Markets our records contain no regulation entry, so the table says "No regulation stated in record" for both, and the ePlanet record reads "No regulatory oversight or scandals reported", which describes history rather than a licence. A 1:500 figure sits very differently next to a five-regulator list than next to an empty field; that is why the table pairs the two columns.

The rest

AvaTrade is the only record below 1:500, stating "Maximum leverage of up to 1:400." Its regulation entry reads "Regulated by ASIC, CBI, and FSCA for safety." and its history reads "Founded in 2006, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland." A conservative ceiling alongside several well-known regulators; the record itself simply states the numbers.

High Leverage Is a Tool With a Shadow

Forced liquidation is faster at high leverage. The margin and stop-out mechanics above do not negotiate: once equity approaches the required margin, the platform acts. At 1:2000, the price distance between an ordinary open position and an automatic close can be measured in a handful of pips, so routine volatility — the kind that occurs in every session — can do the work of a crash. Traders used to low leverage are often unprepared for how little room a maximally leveraged position leaves.

High leverage also feeds overtrading. When $100 can open a position many multiples larger, the temptation is to size positions by what is possible rather than by what the strategy's risk rules allow. The familiar failure pattern is that an account is not destroyed by one dramatic loss but by a sequence of oversized positions, each individually survivable. Leverage does not create that behavior, but it removes the natural brake a low ceiling would impose.

It is worth stating plainly that experienced and professional traders typically use a fraction of the leverage available to them. Access to 1:1000 does not mean trading at 1:1000. Many seasoned traders size positions so that a stop-loss hit costs a small, fixed percentage of the account, and they treat the remaining headroom as unused safety margin rather than capacity to fill. The recorded maximum is a ceiling, not a recommendation — the most important sentence in this article.

How to Verify Your Actual Leverage in Writing

The figure in our table is the maximum a broker records. The leverage that applies to your account can differ by account type, instrument, and sometimes jurisdiction. Before sizing any position around a published ratio, confirm your actual figure:

  • Ask support about your exact account type. Leverage depends on the account category and the instrument; a headline maximum rarely applies to every product. Ask what the maximum leverage is for your account type on your instrument in your region — and get the answer in writing.
  • Confirm in the account dashboard. Most platforms display the leverage assigned to each account in the profile or settings. If the dashboard shows a lower figure than support quoted, the dashboard governs — it is what the trading server enforces.
  • Test with a small position. Open the smallest possible trade and compare the margin required against the notional value. The ratio between the two is your real, working leverage, whatever the marketing page said.
  • Keep the confirmation. Save the support reply or screenshot the dashboard showing the leverage and the date. If a dispute or unexpected margin call ever arises, written evidence of the confirmed figure is the first thing you will need.

Regional Realities for Traders in Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria

Readers in Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria face a specific situation: most international brokers do not hold licences covering these markets, so trading typically runs through a broker's offshore entity or through firms registered in jurisdictions with lighter supervision. Our own records reflect that pattern: the FiboGroup record states "Founded in 2007, headquartered in Malaysia", the OpoFinance record states "Founded in 2018, headquartered in Mauritius", and the XChief record states "Founded in 2014, headquartered in Australia". Offshore registration is not automatically a red flag, but the protections of a particular regulator may not apply to your account, and offshore-advertised leverage is typically higher than under stricter licences.

We also want to be explicit about a gap: our records contain no payment-method data. We cannot tell you which deposit or withdrawal channels any broker in the table accepts for Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq or Syria, and we will not guess. For traders in these countries, payment practicalities are often the decisive constraint — sometimes more than leverage — so verify channels, fees and processing times directly with the broker, in writing, before funding.

Written verification matters more here, not less. When you trade through an offshore entity, your recourse in a dispute is narrower, and the terms that protect you are the ones you can prove were confirmed: your account type, your actual leverage, the stop-out level, and the conditions attached to withdrawals.

Risk and Regulatory Warning

Trading foreign exchange on margin carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for every investor. Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains, and depending on a broker's terms it is possible to lose more than your initial deposit. Nothing in this article is investment advice; the figures quoted are summaries of broker records and can change without notice. Verify all terms with the broker directly before opening an account, and never risk money you cannot afford to lose.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the highest leverage in your records?

The highest maximum leverage across our 24 broker records is 1:3000, stated by FBS — the record reads "Maximum leverage up to 1:3000". Three brokers (Exness, HFM and RoboForex) record 1:2000, and 11 of the 24 records state 1:1000 or higher.

Is 1:3000 leverage safe?

"Safe" is the wrong frame for a ratio. At 1:3000, $100 of margin controls roughly $300,000 of exposure, so a price move of about three hundredths of one percent can erase the margin. The ratio is neither safe nor unsafe — the outcome is decided by position size. A trader who opens small positions at 1:3000 takes less risk than one who fully uses 1:100. Treat the number as a ceiling and control real exposure through position sizing and stop-losses.

Why do some brokers cap leverage?

In several jurisdictions, regulators cap retail leverage as a consumer-protection measure, on the view that high ratios drain small accounts too quickly. Brokers licensed there must offer lower retail maximums — one reason the same group can advertise different ratios in different places — while brokers in jurisdictions without such caps can publish higher maximums. This is general industry context, not a statement about any specific broker in our table.

Does higher leverage change spread costs?

Not directly. The spread is a cost per trade set by the instrument and the broker's pricing; opening the same position size costs the same spread at 1:100 or 1:1000. What leverage changes is how much position size your margin can support — and larger positions pay proportionally more spread. Higher leverage does not make trading cheaper; it makes bigger positions affordable, and bigger positions carry bigger absolute costs.

How do I check the real leverage of my account?

Use the checklist above: ask support to state the maximum leverage for your specific account type and instrument in writing, confirm it in your account dashboard, test it with a minimal position, and keep the confirmation. The headline number on a review page is a maximum that may not apply to your account category, your instrument, or your jurisdiction.

Conclusion

Across our 24 broker records, maximum leverage runs from 1:400 (AvaTrade) to 1:3000 (FBS), with eleven records at 1:1000 or above. We have reported every figure as recorded, paired each with the regulation and minimum-deposit information from the same record, and resisted ranking brokers by the ratio — a higher number is not a better number, only a larger ceiling on exposure.

Use the data as input, not instruction. Match your working leverage to your strategy: the volatility of the instruments you trade, the distance your stop-losses sit from entry, and the share of the account you are willing to lose on a single idea. The brokers in this table will let you trade far larger than that. The discipline to trade smaller is the part no broker record can supply.
