Forex Brokers Comparison (2026): 24 Brokers Side by Side

Why a Comparison Table Beats Any Single-Broker Pitch

Every broker claims to be the best choice in its own marketing. Ask ten traders for the best forex brokers 2026 and you will usually get ten different answers — most of them the broker each trader already uses. A broker’s website will tell you its leverage is generous, its spreads are tight and its support is excellent, because that is what broker websites do. But when you are choosing where to keep your trading capital, marketing copy is not evidence; structured, comparable data is. A proper forex brokers comparison removes that personal bias: it forces every broker onto the same rows of one table and lets the differences speak for themselves.

This article is the centerpiece of our broker coverage: a side-by-side look at 24 forex brokers across five core criteria — regulation, minimum deposit, Islamic account availability, platforms and VPS. The data was not copied from broker websites. Every figure was taken from the live review page of each broker on this site, where we record the same fields for all 24 brokers in the same format. Where a field was not recorded for a broker, we say so openly instead of guessing. For the full profile of any broker, follow the links throughout this article or start from the mqlicense broker hub.

One method note before the table: our dataset is a snapshot (October 2026). Brokers change conditions — deposits, leverage, swap policies — more often than most traders expect. Treat this table as the map and each broker page as the live terrain.

How to Read the Table: The Five Criteria Defined

A comparison is only useful if you know what each column measures. Here is exactly what each criterion means in our dataset:

  • Regulation: the financial authorities that oversee the broker. Oversight quality varies by jurisdiction. Tier-1 regulators such as the FCA in the UK or ASIC in Australia impose strict capital, segregation and conduct requirements, while Tier-2 and Tier-3 offshore registries are lighter-touch; offshore bodies such as the FSA Seychelles sit in this lower group. Several brokers hold several licenses at once — what matters is which entity you actually open your account with.
  • Minimum deposit: the smallest amount the broker requires to open a live account. Where our data records an account-type nuance — for example, $100 for Standard accounts, or an ECN- or STP-style account — we keep that nuance in the table, because the number often applies to a specific account family rather than to the broker as a whole.
  • Islamic account (swap-free): an account structure without overnight swap charges, used by traders who cannot pay or receive interest. This column has three honest states in our table: recorded available, recorded not available, and not recorded — which is not the same as “not available”.
  • Platforms: the software you will actually trade on. MT4 and MT5 are the industry baseline; cTrader and TradingView appear with brokers that target more advanced or charting-oriented traders.
  • VPS: a virtual private server that hosts your trading terminal close to the broker’s servers. It matters mostly for automated strategies, where connection stability and latency directly affect execution quality.

The Main Table: 24 Brokers Side by Side

This broker comparison table is built strictly from five fields of our 24-broker dataset: regulation, minimum deposit, Islamic account, platforms and VPS. A dash (“—”) means the field was not recorded in our dataset — a data gap, not a negative finding.

This data comes from our own broker reviews; conditions change, so check the broker page before opening an account.

  • “—” means “not recorded in our dataset”, not “not available”. For example, we have no minimum-deposit figure for HFM or RoboForex, and no platform data recorded for InstaForex.
  • Three brokers have no regulation recorded at all (InstaForex, OpoFinance, WM Markets), and our review of ePlanet reports no regulatory oversight. Treat those rows with extra caution.
  • Islamic accounts are recorded as available for 6 brokers (AMarkets, CFI Financial, FP Markets, HFM, OctaFX, Vantage), as not available for 6 (Alpari, AvaTrade, ePlanet, OpoFinance, WM Markets, XChief), and are not recorded for the remaining 12.
  • VPS: 13 brokers provide one according to our data, 7 record no VPS (AvaTrade, CFI Financial, ePlanet, Exness, IC Markets, OpoFinance, XChief), and for 4 the field is not recorded.

How to Compare Brokers by Trader Profile

The same table carries different weights depending on who you are: a scalper and a long-term position trader do not need the same broker. Below, we map the criteria to four common profiles, using two more fields from our dataset — cost structure and allowed trading styles — that do not fit in the main table.

Beginners: Regulation First, Deposit Second

For a first live account, put oversight quality above every other column. A beginner’s typical mistakes — oversized positions, missing stop-losses — are survivable with a trustworthy broker and expensive with an unregulated one. In our data, XChief combines Tier-1 ASIC oversight with no minimum deposit, and Exness combines FCA and CySEC oversight with a $1 minimum: both are reasonable shortlists to research further. Also confirm that the broker permits the styles beginners actually use; our data records scalping and hedging permissions for most of the 24.

Scalpers: Spread and Commission Decide Everything

If you place many short trades, the per-trade cost is multiplied by your trade count. Scalpers should target raw or ECN accounts with low per-lot commissions: our dataset records $3/lot on ECN accounts for Alpari and LiteFinance, and $3.5/lot for Pepperstone’s Razor account and Exness’s Raw Spread account. Permission matters as much as price: scalping is recorded as allowed for most of the 24 brokers, but confirm it on the broker’s own page before funding the account.

EA and Algorithmic Traders: VPS Plus Explicit EA Permission

Automated trading has two hard requirements: the broker must explicitly allow Expert Advisors, and the setup must run stably around the clock. Our data records EA permission for most of the 24 brokers; FxPro’s review mentions scalping and hedging but does not record EA permission, so check its page directly. On infrastructure, 13 brokers in the table provide VPS hosting — including HFM, RoboForex, Vantage, XM and FP Markets — while IC Markets and Exness record no VPS, meaning you would run your EA on your own server. If your strategy is latency-sensitive, the VPS column is not a bonus; it is a hard filter.

Swap-Sensitive Traders: The Islamic Column and Beyond

If your strategy holds positions for days or weeks, overnight financing becomes one of your largest recurring costs — and for traders who cannot use interest-based accounts, a swap-free Islamic option is essential. Our data records Islamic accounts as available for AMarkets, CFI Financial, FP Markets, HFM, OctaFX and Vantage. For 12 more brokers the field is simply not recorded; assume neither way and check the broker page, because swap-free terms often differ per account type and per licensing entity.

Spreads and Commission: How the Numbers Add Up

The main table deliberately leaves pricing out, because spread and commission only make sense per account type. Here is the generic model, illustrated with real examples from our dataset:

  • Standard-style accounts: the broker’s fee is built into the spread, usually with no separate commission. Our data records standard-account spreads from 1.20 for HYCM and OpoFinance, and from 1.30 for RoboForex’s Pro account — that figure is the pip cost of each round-trip trade.
  • Raw/ECN-style accounts: near-market spreads plus a fixed per-lot commission. Our data records $3/lot (Alpari and LiteFinance ECN, Moneta Markets Raw), $3.5/lot (Exness Raw Spread, Pepperstone Razor, XM Zero) and $6/lot (FBS ECN).
  • Premium/hybrid accounts: some brokers position an account between the two; for example, our review of HFM records Premium account spreads from 0.50.

Two practical notes. First, compare total cost per trade, not the headline spread: an account with a 0.5-pip spread and $3.5/lot commission can be cheaper than a 1.2-pip “commission-free” account, depending on lot size. Second, these figures are snapshots recorded in our reviews; spreads widen in volatile sessions and commission structures change, so verify on the broker page before committing.

Red Flags to Watch for When Comparing Brokers

A comparison table also works in reverse: it shows what “too good to be true” looks like. Watch for these patterns:

  • Leverage that flatters rather than serves: 1:2000 or 1:3000 looks attractive in an ad, but extreme leverage usually belongs to lightly supervised entities and magnifies losses as efficiently as gains. Even inside our table, leverage up to 1:3000 (FBS) and 1:2000 (Exness, HFM, RoboForex) sits next to solid license lists — the point is not that leverage is a scam, but that it should never be the reason you pick a broker.
  • Missing or unverifiable regulation: three brokers in our table have no regulation recorded, and one more reports no regulatory oversight. An unregulated broker can promise anything, because nobody is checking.
  • Clone firms: fraudsters reuse the names, license numbers and website designs of real, regulated brokers. Always match the broker’s name and domain against the public register of the regulator it claims, and be suspicious of look-alike domains.
  • Guaranteed profits and deposit-doubling offers: no genuine broker guarantees returns; that language belongs to Ponzi schemes wearing broker vocabulary.
  • Withdrawal friction: easy deposits paired with slow or conditional withdrawals are the classic complaint pattern. Read the withdrawal terms before you deposit, not after.

Risk Warning

Forex and CFD trading carries a high risk of losing money, and leverage magnifies both gains and losses; losing the entire deposit is a realistic outcome, especially for inexperienced traders. Oversight by bodies such as the FCA, CySEC, ASIC or DFSA reduces operational and fraud risk — it does not reduce market risk and it does not make any strategy profitable. All data in this article was recorded from our broker reviews and may be out of date by the time you read it; verify current conditions on each broker’s page and on the regulator’s official register before committing funds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which brokers have the strongest regulation in this comparison?

Several brokers hold multiple top-tier licenses in our data: Pepperstone is recorded with ASIC, FCA, CySEC, BaFin and DFSA oversight; IC Markets with ASIC, CySEC and FCA; XM with ASIC, IFSC, CySEC and FCA; FxPro with FCA, CySEC and FSCA; and HFM with FCA, CySEC and DFSA. Keep in mind that multi-license brokers serve different countries through different legal entities, so the license that protects you depends on where you register.

Which of the 24 brokers offer an Islamic account?

In our dataset, Islamic accounts are recorded as available for AMarkets, CFI Financial, FP Markets, HFM, OctaFX and Vantage, and as not available for Alpari, AvaTrade, ePlanet, OpoFinance, WM Markets and XChief. For the remaining 12 brokers the field is not recorded, which is not the same as unavailable — check each broker’s page.

What is the lowest minimum deposit among the 24 brokers?

Per our data, Pepperstone and XChief set no minimum deposit at all, followed by Exness and InstaForex at $1, and FBS and XM at $5. Remember that the deposit is only the entry fee; spreads, commissions and swap costs determine what trading actually costs over time.

Do I need a VPS for automated trading?

Technically no: any stable machine that keeps your platform running around the clock will work, and some large brokers — Exness and IC Markets in our data — record no VPS at all. Still, a VPS located near the broker’s servers improves latency and uptime, which matters for Expert Advisors; 13 brokers in our table provide one.

Is high leverage such as 1:2000 dangerous?

High leverage is a capability, not a recommendation. It magnifies losses exactly as it magnifies gains, and most accounts that are wiped out die from oversized positions rather than bad analysis. Treat maximum leverage as a parameter to stay far away from, and check the leverage caps your own regulator applies.

How current is this comparison data?

Our dataset was compiled from the live review pages on this site in October 2026. Broker conditions change — deposits, leverage, swap policies and platform lists are all movable — so before opening an account, confirm the details on the broker’s page and, where relevant, on the regulator’s register.

Conclusion: Compare on Data, Then Verify on the Broker Page

A comparison table will not trade for you, but it will stop you from choosing a broker for the wrong reasons. Filter first on regulation, then on the criteria your profile actually cares about: the deposit floor for beginners, cost structure for scalpers, VPS for algorithmic traders, swap-free terms for long-horizon traders. When two candidates survive the filter, read their full reviews — every broker in this table has a detailed profile on our site, collected in the mqlicense broker hub.
